1. Serious Professional System
Although the service is used by a wide range of collections, make no mistake, this
is a serious integrated library automation system. It contains the features you would
expect in software costing thousands of dollars more and includes many features that only the
most well funded libraries can afford. The service supports individual collections of over 500,000
catalog records as well as union libraries, such as school districts of more than 150 individual libraries.
2. Great Return on Investment
Whether you choose the standard or enterprise plan, you will get all the
library applications at a price that provides the best return on your investment.
3. Cloud Based - Web Accessed
In today's world, the key is to leverage the most advanced technology possible. By
providing a 'Cloud' based service, all the power of the Internet becomes available to
your library. There are no limits to the number of users or their locations. They
simply need a standard web browser to manage or access the collection.
Did we mention that there is absolutely no software to load on your computer? Also no
software updates. Oh and of course this means little if any technical calls to your IT department.
4. Complete set of Management Apps
An integrated system includes a variety of modules or applications that work together to
build a complete system. LibraryWorld.com provides those applications, which include
full MARC cataloging, circulation, patron management, inventory control, serials tracking,
reports and settings. Each program works together to provide a fully integrated seamless system.
5. Built-in Z39.50 Client
Our Z39.50 client system allows you to literally 'pull' catalog records from many
sources on the Internet, including the Library of Congress, into your own collection.
Once pulled in, you can use the built in MARC catalog editor to customize the record to your
own needs and add local holding records in a one to many relationship.
6. Cover Jacket Sharing Service
A built in jacket image sharing service allows you to automatically tap into over
a million existing jacket images in a seamless and automatic way. After importing or
adding a catalog record, in many instances the book jacket image just appears.
7. Digital Library
Up to 50 files, pdf or jpeg, can be attached to a specific catalog record and up to
10,000 files for a library. File images can be used as thumbnails in place of book
jacket covers, allowing holdings to be quickly identified. In addition, catalog
records can include URL links that take users to additional Web resources or eBook
vendors.
8. Online Patron Access Features
A special highly customizable patron access program allows your patrons to have read-only access to your
collection. The program can be linked right into your own Web site to provide a seamless
experience. Patrons can even request items to be placed on hold if you desire. Several other
patron access solutions are available including free iPhone and Android applications.
9. Free Trial Period
All plans are available to be used for 30 days at no charge. Simply create a library and
start building your collection. All features are there in the trial so you can make sure the
service meets your needs. If it does, simply purchase the service online with a credit card,
or give us a call to activate the library.
10. Our Data Policy.
This last point is not so trivial. We have a three point data policy: ownership, access and
transportability. Number one: you own your own data. Number two: we allow access to that
data from any standard internet point. Number three: we allow you to export your catalog, holding and
patron records into standard formats. We do not 'lock' you into our system and we will try, within reason, to
make sure you can get your catalog, holdings and patron data out if you desire.
Although these are our top ten, don't take our word for it. Check out the 'Customer' link and see
what some of our customers say about us. Also check out our Facebook page and very popular BLOG.
We appreciate the time you are taking to review the service and encourage you to get started by creating a free user account
and a free 30 day trial library.
